What are the Thailand Privilege Visa Memberships?

There are currently five available Thailand Privilege membership tiers, with higher tiers providing longer stays and more benefits:

Thailand Privilege Required Documents

Once you’ve met all of the above, you will need to gather the following documents for your Thailand Privilege Visa application:

  • Completed Membership Application Form
  • Signed PDPA Form
  • Signed Payment Authorization Form
  • Color scan of passport biodata page
  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • Proof of relationship documents for family applicants
  • Education Visa Acknowledgement Form (if applicable)

Siam Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ ensures all documentation meets Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd.'s requirements before submission.

Thailand Privilege Application Process

Before applying, it is recommended to consult a government-partnered General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA). GSSAs provide free assistance in helping you complete your application, from reviewing your application for any errors to even submitting it on your behalf to the correct authorities. With a GSSA working closely by your side, you will be able to acquire your visa as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Here are the steps to take when applying for a Thailand Privilege Visa:

  • Pre-Check & Document Submission

Process: Submit a copy of your passport and application form.

Ensure your passport has at least 1 year of validity remaining. We also recommend scanning pages in color; black and white scans are often rejected by the immigration office, causing delays.
  • Background Check (4-6 Weeks)

Process: Thai Immigration performs a criminal background check.

This is the longest part of the wait. If you have a common name, it might trigger a manual review. We monitor this status daily for our clients to ensure no files are lost in the queue.
  • Approval & Payment

Process: You receive an approval letter and an invoice. You pay the fee directly to Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd.

Payment can be made by card, mobile banking, bank transfer, Alipay, or cash at Krung Thai Bank. Cryptocurrency is also accepted, but must be arranged through a GSSA. We help confirm the best option and ensure the payment is properly logged.
  • Visa Affixation

Process: You can have the visa affixed at the airport, a Thai embassy or consulate abroad, or the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok, depending on where you are at the time of approval.

We help clients choose the fastest option based on their travel plans. Booking EPA support or an immigration appointment in advance prevents avoidable delays during affixation.

Timeline of a Thailand Privilege Application Process

The timeline for the entire Thailand Privilege Visa application process is estimated to take between 1 and 3 months. Here is a breakdown of each step:

  • The background check will take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
  • After receiving your approval letter and payment invoice, you will have 30 days to pay your membership fee. Once you’ve completed the payment, you will be notified of it being successfully received within 1 and 2 weeks.
  • The waiting time for you to receive your approval letter, payment invoice, welcome letter, and membership ID takes between 5 and 10 working days.

  • DIAMOND: 1,500,000 baht per additional family member

  1. What are the eligibility requirements for a Thailand Privilege Visa?
There are no age, financial, education, employment, or income requirements that you need to meet to qualify for a Thailand Privilege Visa. Joining Thailand Privilege requires little more than paying your membership fee and passing the background check.
  1. What is the Thailand Privilege Points System?

Every membership (except for the Bronze membership) comes with a certain number of privilege points that refresh every year. Below are the benefits of the Thailand Privilege Points System:

  • Members gain more flexibility over which perks to choose from and utilize through redeeming points.
  • The points required for certain privileges are often inexpensive, with most privileges costing between 1 and 3 points.
  • The points reset back to the default amount for each membership package each year. This means that members who didn’t get the benefit they wanted in one year can redeem their points for it in the following year.
  1. How many Thailand Privilege Points are required for each benefit?

The full list of Thailand Privilege Point benefits and their costs is far too long to cover in its entirety, but here are some examples that should give you an idea about average costs:

  • 1 point: Used to purchase privileges such as airport transfers, complimentary dining nights, spa packages, access to fitness centers, and Elite Personal Liaison services.
  • 2 points: Used to acquire privileges such as airport transfers via luxury vehicles, dental checkups, health checks, free rounds of golf, and tickets to sporting events.
  • 3 points: Used for privileges such as domestic roundtrip flights, airport transfers for longer hauls, private tours, health and wellness packages, and tickets to world-class concerts.
  1. What’s the difference between the old Thailand Elite packages and the newer Thailand Privilege packages?

The differences are mostly in terms of pricing, types of memberships on offer, and the benefits available for each. The new Thailand Privilege membership packages, for example, provide far more VIP benefits that can be customized to your liking thanks to the Thailand Privilege Points System.

Thailand Privilege memberships also include new, additional privileges that are not present with the old Thailand Elite Visa program. These include:

  • Free VIP seating and movie ticket deals
  • Personal accident insurance
  • Access to co-working spaces and networking events
  • Events and special gifts on birthdays and on a seasonal basis
  • The ability to rent private jets, yachts and boats
  • Wealth advisory seminars
  • And much, much more
  1. Do holders of a Thailand Privilege Visa gain access to an Elite Personal Liaison?

Yes, as a Thailand Privilege member, you have the right to consult a Thailand Privilege staff for support on your needs. By spending 1 to 2 privilege points, you have access to the services of an Elite Personal Liaison (EPL) to help you with the following duties:

  • 90-day reporting (1 point)
  • Guidance on how to open a Thai bank account (2 points)
  • Guidance on how to acquire a Thai driver’s license (2 points)
  • Other government-related services
  1. Are holders of a Thailand Education Visa or Thailand Volunteer Visa still disqualified from applying for a Thailand Privilege membership?

If you currently possess or used to hold a Thailand Education Visa, you can still qualify for a Thailand Privilege Visa, provided you can prove that you obtained your Thailand Education Visa through legal means and that your education institution is legitimate. You can accomplish this by completing an Education Visa Holder Acknowledgement Form and providing the required documents from your education institution.

If you currently possess or used to hold a Thailand Volunteer Visa, you will not be eligible to apply for a Thailand Privilege Visa. There is currently no news on whether this rule will change.

  1. As a holder of an old Thailand Elite membership, can I upgrade to a new Thailand Privilege membership?

Yes. If you are a holder of an old Thailand Elite Visa, you can choose to upgrade to one of the 4 newer Thailand Privilege memberships (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Reserve). However, you must be a holder of one of the following card types:

  • Elite Easy Access Card
  • Elite Family Excursion Card
  • Elite Family Alternative Card
  • Elite Privilege Access Card
  • Elite Superiority Extension Card
  • Elite Ultimate Privilege Card
  • Elite Family Premium Card
  • Lifetime Card

Currently, the Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. has introduced a promotion that completely waives the 100,000 THB upgrade fee and runs from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025.

  1. Are any nationalities restricted from applying for the Thailand Privilege Visa?

TPC has changed its policy on restricted nationalities. All countries on the UN’s sanction lists, except for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), are now eligible to apply for the Thailand Privilege Visa. The previously ineligible nationalities that can now apply for the Thailand Privilege Visa include:

  • Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan
  • Africa: Central Africa, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan
  • Middle East: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Syria, Yemen
  1. Can I apply for a physical Thailand Privilege card?

Yes, you can. After earning your membership ID and welcome letter, you will be able to apply for a physical Thailand Privilege card. This is completely optional and involves completing an entirely separate application. There are two benefits to having this document:

  • You can provide physical proof of your Thailand Privilege membership to authorities as well as your friends, family, and co-workers.
  • Some establishments may require membership cards as physical confirmation of your membership status. The inability to present a card may prevent you from using your privilege points at these venues.

A physical membership card can be sent either by mail to your address in Thailand or you can pick it up at the Thailand Privilege desk at the airport (the same location you affix your new Thailand Privilege Visa to your travel document).

  1. Do Thailand Privilege members receive the same immigration benefits as with Thailand Elite Visa?

Yes, as with the old Thailand Elite Visa, you do not need a re-entry permit, you can open a Thai bank account and acquire a Thai driver’s license, and there are no annual fees required to maintain these benefits.

Furthermore, you can redeem privilege points to obtain the following perks to help with these tasks:

  • Free bank account assistance
  • Free driver's license assistance
  • Free agent to support you with your 90-day reporting
  • Other government benefits

The Thailand Privilege Points System gives you the option of spending your points on these services, or doing them yourself and keeping the points for other fun and rewarding perks. This element of choice is not present with the old Thailand Elite Visas, which had static benefit offerings.
